How I got into running

Why have I written this?

I spent a long time – decades – thinking that I should get fit, but couldn’t really “find a way in” to any kind of exercise. After a very unhealthy lifestyle in my 20s and 30s I thought any regular exercise would always be boring and painful. Since getting going with running I’ve found that not to be the case. Along the way I read a few things here and there, from online comments to entire books, which have helped refine my practice. This is my attempt to give something back by writing about how I got into running in the hope that it will help others find their way into running. It’s also a way of helping me think about my practice by having to make those thoughts explicit through the act of writing.
