London-based digital media producer and consultant, specialising in jargon-free Wordpress
website design & development, Google Maps integration and Facebook / Twitter integration. These are freelance projects - I now work primarily through the Bureau For Change.
I designed Anne's original site in 2006, and she felt the time was right for a revamp. The site is now bilingual and managed by two editors. The sites use Wordpress Multisite with a common theme, which means that the content can be different on each site while retaining an identical look-and-feel. It also uses theme translations, allowing other languages to be added easily. Visit Anne Schwanewilms »
Body & Soul is a charity that provides support to people of all ages living with HIV / AIDS, as well as increasing public awareness of the issues with familiar faces such as Tim Westwood, Tinchy Stryder and Annie Lennox. Working to designs by Provokateur, Body & Soul is a multimedia-rich site with a slideshow format which uses Wordpress for content management. Visit Body & Soul »
Working with the agency Public Life, this was another Wordpress site that needed an integrated calendar of events. The use of Wordpress means that VAI are able to update and control the image-based landing page and homepage patches with a very simple interface.

The University of Dundee needed a fresh approach to their website. I designed and built new templates which will roll out across all University sites. The templates fulfill strict accessibility requirements and will work seamlessly with their new Content Management System.

A programme microsite for the World Service series about drug abuse in the Caribbean, and the effects that come from being a major hub for transnational drug smuggling. The site was designed to fit the internal content management system, Specials Maker, and uses RealAudio streaming. Visit High on Life »
Video Nation shows the power of television to find beauty in everyday life. The TV series ran from 1993 to 1998 and was resurrected as a BBC Website in 2001. I comissioned the design, trained new producers throughout the UK and digitised old shorts. One of my favourites is Lacking.
Much of the site has been redesigned since I left the BBC. Visit BBC Video Nation »
